For the European market, the Clue box cover has been given additional artwork. The familiar US image that appears on its box cover and posters appears on this box's reverse. The front cover has been given a more striking sillouette of the suspects and weapons as well as a caricature-esque drawing. The tag line, "Seven Suspects, Six Weapons, Five Bodies and Three Endings" is also used. Oddly, the box cover shows eight potential suspects and, of course, throughout the movie, there are six (or seven) bodies - not five. The box also suggests that the movie is approximately 92 minutes whereas the US edition says 96 minutes.

"Cluedo" isn't just a boardgame anymore! The suspicious characters and sinister rooms made famous by the popular board game have come to life. "Clue" is a comedy that also entertains as a murder mystery in the classic tradition of delicious and stylish whodunits. The butler, the maid and the cook, plus a few others are new characters invented for the film. And each is both a suspect and potential victim. For mysterious reasons, a bizarre group of people are summoned to a luxurious dinner party in an elegant but long deserted American Gothic mansion. In the course of the evening, their darkest secrets are revealed. And the gathering becomes dangerous for all, and for some, fatal as it escalates from nervous apprehension to frantic terror!
