Vicki Cameron returns one more time to author this second set of 15 mini mysteries based on the Clue boardgame. This time around, the suspects are based on the US 2003 edition characters and the bios contained in the game. This seems to work well in fleshing out the characters with a more distinct flare than in the previous Clue Mysteries. As Vicki Cameron states in an email to the site owner, "I had settled into the characters and wasn't under such a tight deadline." The book is far more entertaining with many humorous passages. For instance, the subtle, clever humor appears as Miss Scarlet steals Mr. Green's car and has no idea how to drive it: The motor car shot back out of the garage, across the driveway, onto the lawn, and stopped abruptly when it rammed into an oak tree. The goggles did an admiral job of protecting her eye makeup from the steering wheel. Unfortunately, like the previous book, the same crime occurs in every chapter - who killed Mr. Boddy? On a positive note, the author leaves a more satisfying trail of decipherable clues to catch the killer. As for the future of the Clue mini mysteries series - who knows? Ms. Cameron states, "My contract was for 2 books. Running Press and Hasbro have to renegotiate if there are to be more books." We shall see...
