This poll only relates to the main six, though I do have four extra weapons in the collection too. I will offer some details for each as to what lead me to the picks I did make.
Candlestick - This one came from England, it is copper with silver plating, and has a floral motif on the base and lip. I was inspired by the original UK candlestick - particularly by the 1949 patent token model which is quite large. This candlestick when I got it was quite light, with a very corroded base, so I did a little job on it by gutting the corrosion and replacing it with a lead plate I cut, making it much heavier. The base rim also has some dents and abrasion marks that could suggest murder.
Revolver - This is the only revolver I chose to get, and I think I made a great choice considering the narrow market for guns -especially to get one shipped to Canada without a license. It is an 1850-70 Belgium pinfire model, with a wooden butt and floral engravings on the chamber. It reminds me an antique version of the Movie/Passport to Murder gun.
Lead Pipe - Lead pipes are quite hard to find online. I found someone selling a chunk of lead on ebay, that was very large. I ended up cutting this lead down and rolling it up to make a pipe similar to the 1949 Clue lead pipe, with further alterations to adjust the size and curve.
Wrench - This wrench I was lucky to find as it evokes the classic wrench look completely. It's nearly identical (except no rust stains) to the wrench from Murder at Boddy Mansion, even with the loop hole on the base.
Rope - The rope I found online from a UK store selling all sizes of ropes. It's the only addition to the collection that isn't really an antique, but I did base the material choice and size specifications off the description from the 2000 UK edition's card blurb. I ended up having to buy two different versions of rope as the first attempt was too thick (I didn't measure properly, though when I cut it down it did look cool. The thick rope is what's shown in the dramatic photo of me holding it, though it's the new thinner rope in the exhibit photo.)
Knife - The knife is the second knife I got, the first being a stiletto from France. This knife that's now on display is a Turkish piece from Bulgaria that came with a handsome sheath, and isn't based off any particular Clue(do) version, except for referencing a knife of "Oriental origin" mentioned in several versions of Clue.
Below, I have a group collection photo, plus several drama pics I took over the course of collecting that I have up on Instagram.
