New Clue game. Clue: Secrets and Spies
This video on Yahoo videos recaps all the newer version of board games and talks about future board game projects, including a new Clue game that looks like CSI (I told you it would happen one day)

I paused and took a closer look at it. This has got to be the most un-Clue like game ever. The board looks to me like a Risk board, not a Clue board. Meet Scarlet in Berlin? Retarded. Peacock the Spy? Even more retarded. Blacklights? More retardation. Texting in a Clue game? This game has got to be retarded.

2 things:
- considering that the information about this game presented is a few seconds in a segment on a morning news program, don't you all think that you're jumping to conclusions to be bashing the game already?
- doesn't it make sense, considering the business world and society at large, regardless of your personal views on either, that such changes in the game would have been inevitable?
just my two cents that're worth only one
in my opinion, there have been far worse things to happen to clue - the simpsons, harry potter, madame rose, dungeons and dragons to name a few - than text messages and spies

I see what you mean, but this could just be the beginning of turning Clue into something like CSI. Clue to me will always be the classic English murder mystery, very Agatha Christie-esque. Not spies running to Berlin to question Scarlet the spy. The Reinvention, while still a failure to me, still had some of these elements. This just looks like international espionage and drug smuggling.
I wouldn't say that Simpsons, Harry Potter, or Dungeons and Dragons were the worst thing to happen to Clue. They are just themed versions of the game aimed towards fans of those things, not Clue fans. As for Madame Rose, I think that she only helped Clue.
I, for one, don't look forward to this game. But if by some miracle this stays true to what I think Clue should be, then I do apologize for bashing before knowing anything about the game.

I'm not even going to give this game a first chance. It looks awful!
I don't care if it has the Clue label on it, because it certainly doesn't look like Clue to me. Therefore, why would I have any interest in getting it?

I'm with munitzer. We hardly know anything about this game. We have a glimpse of some possibilities - I doubt anything is set in stone yet, and considering that they just came out with the Reinvention, I bet it'll be a few years before this one takes over. Who knows what will change by then. We don't know anything about the suspects, locations, or even game play yet.

The situation with Clue reminds me of Agatha Christie fans' reactions to the Geraldine McEwan "Marple" adaptations...

Madame Rose is one of the best things to happen to Cluedo, and spies only works with an Asian Miss Scarlett. Texts are awful ideas, especially if you're playing as Peacock.munitzer wrote: in my opinion, there have been far worse things to happen to clue - the simpsons, harry potter, madame rose, dungeons and dragons to name a few - than text messages and spies
"Oh excuse me, I've got a spy text message on my mobile phone, now excuse me..."
If that is Mustard on the cover, then it wouldn't shock me that they will make six different modern Cluedos. Each with a different modern suspect on the cover. One down, one in progress, four on the drawing board.
