What is so offensive about the wording? I'm not sure I follow. If you are a girl, the sentence should read:

"Straight, BOYS rock!"

Your other options are: "Bi, BOYS and GIRLS rock"

and

"*beep*, GIRLS rock"

"Gay" isn't an option for girls.

If you are a boy, the sentence reads:

"Straight, GIRLS rock".

He put the slash there for you to use your own judgement to "correct" the sentence, so to speak, no different than saying "the suspect left his/her glass on this table". You use it when you are not aware of the gender. I am very unclear as to why the wording would be at all confusing or offensive.

I find it neither confusing nor offensive. I am gay and I think boys AND girls rock! Thus, I would have worded it differently

i've seen a full moon during the day before, the sun was up and all, there were no clouds and you could actually see the full moon, it was quite cool
