I'm just baffled that of every forum, we're the ones getting spammed. We're a very small community, what algorithm decided we're a cash cow that needs to be furiously milked?

Fortunately my boyfriend offered to help me in my times of being too stressed, so that I no longer end up checking for spammers during breaktime at work - he's helping with chucking and banning them.

Please refrain from replying to spammers for the following reasons:

-either I have to delete your post, or I have to leave the spammer's text in the screen.
-Almost all spammers have either 0 or 6 replies to their topic. This is a huge help with sorting out spammers for me. By replying you make the post less visible. Also the name of the last replyer helps. By replying you take away a very useful tool, should a spammer post a chain of spammers while I'm asleep.
-by merely opening the offending post you can click a link by accident. Clicking a wrong link means ransomware or Trojan viruses can take over your computer.

But there is a possible problem if you accidentally click on a link, which can easily happen due to a finger slip, a delay with your mouse / computer reacting to your actions, etc.
