It's my sister's age, and so naturally, I am concerned. Kids lack a lot of maturity at that age. That's all I can say.

Concerned that she may learn what lies between her legs? While you say kids lack maturity at that age, perhaps they simply have a sense of humour. Also, for it to be funny or shocking, it had to be something taught as forbidden, yeah? If the genitals were treated as any part of the body right from the get-go, then perhaps kids wouldn't snicker about it anymore than the mention of an arm or leg. Just a thought.

I now have a dress for prom. The only thing I need to take care of is my potential date (my guy friend). I haven't checked back with him yet because recently, his family's been through h*ll and I want to be sensitive and wait until the right time to ask him.
Anyone who thinks Canadians are meek and mild-mannered has obviously never seen us during Question Period!

D@mn, it was hot today... I like winter so much more...
I've found myself for a few days nowdiscussing Shakespeare's work in general with my teacher before class, and why I love Othello and Macbeth more than Hamlet, which we're doing now (I love THAT too, but its reputation as "the greatest play written in English" makes me seek out others by Shakespeare that I can feel more of a personal connection to). Kenneth Branagh's film version has a fanatical following associated with it, but in my mind, the first act is dreadful. (The Ghost does not feel eerie or anything- more like a Halls commercial.) It is only when Rosencrantz and Guildenstern show up that I think his version picks up, and it becomes a true masterpiece by the end.

I love his Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, and his Hamlet is not a moping 54-year-old-playing-a-20-year-old, but full of energy- he could've had a good, long life, and this increases the tragedy.
I seriously think his ghost was horrible, though- it was a real case of overkill. He spoke in a hoarse whisper that was harder to decipher than Batman's, and I kept waiting for him to start moaning or shout "Boo!". The ghost is so much better in the Gibson version- or heck, even the Ethan Hawke version, where the ghost looks totally ordinary, but his voice is just insane- you get that he's cheesed off about being killed, having his wife marrying his brother, and not being able to even go to heaven.

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has gotten to be the size of Jamaica. Oddly, there seems to be little public outcry over the issue, despite the devastating effects it will have on the ecosystem down in the United States. Environmentalists are furious, and they have every right to be. There's going to be a big ugly clash in the future between the oil companies and those who will be trying to stop them.
Especially with drilling in the Arctic. Are they ***** NUTS!?

My external hard drive is corrupted!
I was in the middle of saving something to my external hard drive, when it just turned off without warning. I turned it back on, and when I went to where I was saving the file, all I found were a patch of gibberish names!! I'll have to see Data Recovery! God help me!

Have fun! If you had held off a few weeks, you could have seen me in a charming yellow and white striped shirt, directing traffic, driving a tram, whatever it is I'll be doing lol. But have a great time!fendue wrote:And on another note, you guys won't see me for about a week. I'll be in Disney World. Bye!
