Well, that sounds intriguing. Where could I see it?
Oh, it's England. Croquet on the lawn, tea in silver teapots, sherry before dinner. One simply has to maintain one's standards!

Good luck finding it! It's virtually impossible to find any episodes on YouTube, aside from one or two, and there are various anime sites to view the episodes on, but what happens to me is, I'll watch episode two on Site A, then it will turn out episode three is not available, so then I go to Site B, watch episode three, episode four is not available, etc.
I'm not far enough into it to safely say if it works EXACTLY like Higurashi or not--to avoid spoiling, there is a certain way in which the series works, and it's pretty confusing the first time you see it but it gets more clear as the show goes on. Umineko appears to work in a similar manner. I think you would have to see the original series (which is MUCH easier to find on YouTube) in order to understand this one.

The plot is thus: An aging old man invites his family to come to his private island to discuss matters of inheritance as he has been given three months to live. While there, everyone learns he likes to practice black magic and is acquainted with a witch named Beatrice (I should add that unlike other animes, the characters here all have Western names, such as Jessica and Maria). The witch is unleashed among his family and servants and people begin mysteriously dying off one by one, but is this witch responsible for the murders? Or is there a more rational explanation?
So you've got a family reunion that appears to be perfectly normal at first along with a downright CREEPY child who knows more than she should ( Harper's Island ), people trying to figure out what their mysterious host is really up to ( Clue ), and of course people getting killed off one by one in accordance to a weird rhyme ( And Then There Were None ), with a bit of supernatural elements thrown in between, as well as some star-crossed romance.
Oh, and the hero is a bit of a pervert. :P

I was gone but am now back. I accomplished much over the weekend. For starters, I now own a first edition of Carr's biography of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle!!! :D

The night before Halloween I found myself watching Turner Classic Movies. First was The Isle of the Dead, an And Then There Were None-ish thriller which has gotten ideas swarming in my head for a Clue story. Second was Gaslight with Ingrid Bergman which was fantastic! If you haven't seen this film, I strongly recommend it!

I've watched Gaslight on TCM too. I agree, I loved it too.

Know what's funny about Umineko? There are two canon couples on the show, but the hero and the villain have the best chemistry together. I am not making this up; I seriously believe that if they don't kill each other in the finale, or at the very least defeat each other, they will sleep together instead. :P

In any event, I will have to wait another week for the next anime episode to go up on-line. Boo. But on the bright side, the visual novel game upon which its based is on YouTube, so I suppose I could check that out in the mean time.

$55 went out the window today as I invaded my local bookstore for 9 Carrs. One will replace my copy of Till Death Do Us Part- the others are new additions to my shelf.
