Additional Mystery Puzzle Characters
Could someone help me out with a small project I'm working on? I'm compiling a list of all the additional "color-named" characters in the Clue books and puzzles. I have all the books, but I only own one of the puzzles (To Kill a Dying Man). I've managed to collect copies (pdfs) of the booklets from all the others but two: Death on Safari and The Country Inn Murder. Could someone who has those tell me if there are any characters with "colorful" last names in either of them? Thanks!
Here's my list of the extra puzzle characters so far:
Mme. Chartreuse (Death Foretold)
Mrs. Rose Black (A Merry Little Murder)
Constable Mauve, Arnold Beige, Donald Ecru and Gerald Gray (To Kill a Dying Man)
Mr. Taupe (A Ghostly Murder)
Thomas Black (The Masquerade Murder)
Pinkie, Miss Scarlet's Pomeranian (The Color of Murder)
Henri LeBlanc, Pierre Rouge and Lillie Von Ochre (Framed for Murder)

This collector's page has links to several games' booklets. The two you are looking for are not there, but perhaps the collector has them but has not posted them yet. There is a contact link at the bottom of the page.

Yes, that's where I got half of the booklets from, several years ago. I never noticed the contact link (didn't scroll down past the Clue puzzles), so I might give that a try if no one here responds. Thanks!TheButlerButInnocent wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 1:03 am This collector's page has links to several games' booklets. The remainder of the booklets that I have came from Hasbro's site:
Framed for Murder
A Ghostly Murder
Killer on Board
The Masquerade Murder
To Kill a Dying Man
Hasbro used to have "A Merry Little Murder," too, but it has vanished and I can't find another copy online.

Re: Additional Mystery Puzzle Characters
It’s also possible Hasbro has the other booklets in their own archives, but haven’t put them up on their website. I’ve had that happen a few times over the years, when I’d buy an older copy of a game & not be able to find the rules for that edition online. If you email their customer service team, there’s a good chance they can send you the PDF copies directly.soundpound wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 10:22 amThank you for that link.TheButlerButInnocent wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 1:03 am This collector's page has links to several games' booklets. I’d just recommend pretending you’ve bought a used copy of the puzzle & are missing the booklet. I don’t know if they’d be as quick to respond to a more general inquiry for someone just curious to read the story.

The other two are still there even though they aren’t listed:alwaysPeacock wrote: ↑Sun Aug 26, 2018 4:20 pmIt’s also possible Hasbro has the other booklets in their own archives, but haven’t put them up on their website. Re: Additional Mystery Puzzle Characters
Come on, everyone. Surely somebody out there has Death on Safari or The Country Inn Murder and can answer my original question at the beginning of this thread.
Great that we shared all these PDFs, but honestly, I don't even need to read the stories for Safari or Country Inn. I just want to know if there are any characters in either who follow the pattern of being named for colors, like the aforementioned Mme. Chartreuse, Mr. Ecru, etc. Someone help me out?

Re: Additional Mystery Puzzle Characters
Since last we spoke (ha ha), I've added six more puzzles to my collection (Killers in the Kitchen, The Color of Murder, Death Foretold, A Merry Little Murder, Framed for Murder and The Curse of Bledmore Mansion), but still not the two I asked about originally. I'm bumping this up in case we have any new members or someone who didn't see the thread the first time around who can answer my original question.
Once again, can anyone tell me if Death on Safari or The Country Inn Murder have any additional characters whose names are colors? Thanks!

Re: Additional Mystery Puzzle Characters
I’m being thinking of using some of these characters in the future.
Re: Additional Mystery Puzzle Characters
So there is a Constable Gray in these stories? Another Gray to add to the list (and another police officer Gray).
Re: Additional Mystery Puzzle Characters
It is interesting that Grey/Gray has been associated with the police so many times, some of which I am sure are coincidental rather than deliberate
