Parker Brother's Mystery Game

Post by Jonathan Green »

Hasbro has decided to revive Parker Brothers as a "Discount Shop Brand". Here's their version of Clue........"Mystery Game".

I could imagine was they did with Waddington Games. Mystery Game-Do.

No cause I also want it. I prefer this than the current Clue To-Go Game.

Oh c r a p, what is this!?

Interesting that they revived the Parker Brothers name, but why isn’t this Clue?

I hope this isn’t what they have in mind for an upcoming update of Cluedo ...

I thought we were done with theaters and bedrooms.

It seems to be dumbed down considerably —

replacing Garden Room for Conservatory, Game room for Billiard Room and Entrance for Hall.

And who needs a study or lounge when you can have a sitting room?

You know, for Sitting.

The Games Room is preposterous. Good luck getting a good angle at the pool table, in such a cramped space.

The fact that the name of Parker Brothers has been demoted to something synonymous with knock off games is enough to make me lose my meal.

The icing on the cake is the Sims 4 look alike characters.

On the bright side, we might have some new weapons and colorful characters to use.

Looks to me like Miss Rubie, Gen. Umber, Miss Azul, Mr Pine, Sir Lilac, and Dr. Rose.

Sadly enough Mrs. White stayed dead once more and Dr. Rose (Orchid) made her way into the standard set.

Actually, it's Sir Ube. Matt told me it was a purple yam.

Yes it is. Ube is a common Southeast Asia delicacy. I love Ube ice cream.

I really don't understand what this is ... or why they're creating a knock-off of their own copyright.

And why do they insist on dragging the Parker Brothers name in the dirt by having the logo practically bigger than the title on every card?

The artwork of the rooms reminds me of Clue Bingo mixed with the sims. And the mansion barely looks like one. The 2014 edition of Clue had a better mansion design than this.

Mr. Pine looks like a manservant of sorts. Perhaps he is the new "White"?

I don’t know ...

A cast iron pan, wrench, cleaver (incorrectly labeled “butcher knife), hammer, revolver, golf club!?

While the wrench and revolver are pretty standard Clue items, and the cleaver aligns with the knife, the rest are mostly worthy of DTS.

And these characters are really just makeovers of the current crop of Cluedo suspects.

The only real difference is that Ube (Plum) is black (and reminds me a little of Prince Azure with the shaved head).

Even Rose is Asian and a Dr.

I mean what is the point of this!? It just makes no sense to me.

Looking at Sir Ube, he reminds me a lot of Shaun Wallace from the British version of The Chase

You might want to watch this with the volume muted ...

This game is really tiny.

But as far as I can tell, it plays like normal Clue, with fewer spaces.

Then why does it only allow for 4 players, instead of the normal six?

(But it looks like there’s room for two more players on the board)

So again, what’s the point of any of this!?

If you’re going to do a mini travel version of Clue, why confuse the marketplace with new, but similar artwork and names?
