That is actually not the 1951 edition. It's more like a 1960s, early 70s edition. The original 1950s French edition is in the long black box with wooden pawns. The Germans shared an almost identical design to this French edition, which occurred sometime after Parker Brothers took over licensing and manufacturing in Europe.
