Clue: The House on Candlestick Hill

Post by PeachFreak »

Welcome. This is a forum game based off the now dead "Slasher Game" on The-N website. It utilizes private messaging...and lying and trickery are smiled upon.

Several people were invited to stay at Boddy Mansion, way at the top of Candlestick Hill. Each, who had met Boddy sometime during the past, was given an alias...and a promise that whoever stayed the longest would win all of Boddy's fortune. After all, the place was spooked. On the first night, Boddy was found dead. With the doors locked and the paranoid Boddy investing in shatter-proof glass, there is no escape. Now, the guests are growing suspicious of one another. Is there one killer? Or two? Or three? And who's next?

The Beginning

Each person will choose a character. A character can have several roles, which will be assigned randomly.

Guest- This character is an innocent victim. They didn't kill Boddy, and they certainly won't kill their fellow guests. However, that doesn't mean they won't lock up those whom they suspect.

Murderer- The person or persons who helped kill Boddy. They want the money and have decided to work together and kill off the competition until they get what they want. There is one killer for every three guests. All the killers will be told who is on their "team."

~Special Variations~ (One of Each)

Police Officer- A guest who is secretly working for the local police. They'll use their training to save somebody in danger of being murdered.

Psychic- A guest who secretly has real ESP. They'll use their powers to find out the others' secrets.

Journalist- A guest who is secretly working for the local news. They can use their snooping abilities to their advantage.

A Round:

The game is played in rounds. Each round consists of two parts: Night and Day.

Night:

No public discussion happens at Night. All the guests are in bed. Many things happen at night.

Twice per game, the Psychic may PM me a player's name. I will tell him or her that player's identity. (Killer, Guest, Police Officer. Etc.) If you don't PM me, I will just assume you don't want to use the ability.

The Police Officer will PM me one person they are going to "protect" That person cannot be killed this round. If the killers decide to kill that person, nobody dies that round. All of this will remain anonymous. The Police Officer cannot protect themself.

The Journalist may snoop twice per game to find out who will be killed that round. (And if they know who the Police Officer is, perhaps they can try to privately convince them to protect the intended victim...unless the officer has already decided on somebody to save.) If you don't PM me, I will assume you did't want to use the ability.

The killers will discuss via PM who they want to kill that night. They must agree on one guest to kill. I will appoint a "Messenger" who will PM me their decision. The person they decide on will be murdered and out of the game.

Day:

Everyone gathers in the lounge after the discovery of the body. Each person will vote publicly for another player. The killers also vote to keep their identities secret. The player with the most votes is locked up in the cellar and out of the game.

Private Discussions

PM's are a large part of this game. Feel free to form alliances with people you trust. Secretly tell others your identity...Lie about your identity to gain other's trust. If you're the psychic and you find a killer, let everybody know...or keep it secret. Whatever you want. Please don't PM each other once your character is dead.

Ending the Game

The Killers Win: When all but one guest are dead or locked up.

The Guests Win: When all of the killers have been locked up.

-------------

So, anyone interested? They'll have to be eight players for there to be two killers and twelve for there to be three, and so forth.

Sounds great. Can I be Miss Sakura Scarlet? Boddy's guest - a beautiful Asian woman, Boddy's expert bridge partner.

Oh, it's England. Croquet on the lawn, tea in silver teapots, sherry before dinner. One simply has to maintain one's standards!

We currently have eight players, meaning there will be at least two killers. However, places are still open. Everyone may begin to choose suspects to represent themselves when roleplaying and voting.

I'll be Senator Benjamin Peacock, the husband of Mrs. Peacock, who has been bribing Mr. Boddy to stay in office.

Judge Basil Mauve is the judge who charged Mr. Boddy with the lawsuit his ex-wife charged against him, which was never disclosed to the public.

I'll be Mrs. Bethany-Adelaide "Bea" Peacock - The prudish, unassuming wife of Senator Peacock. She is old enough to be his mother.

Lord Alexander Oakwood - A lord in name only, Oakwood is a reputable architect based in London, who had recently been designing additions and renovations to Boddy's mansion.

Lieutenant Fay Khaki - A former college friend of Mr. Boddy, and a lieutenant in the U.S. armed forces, thought to be on good terms with Mr. Boddy.
