I think Gore Verbinski is a very good director, particularly for his achievements with the "Pirates of the Caribbean" sequels, when he shot without a definite script. They really declined in quality, yet he made them somewhat fun.

Personally it would be better if two suspects cards were picked opposed to two people on one card.
NPR had a story about board games into movies. Clue was mentioned but nothing else about Clue. Just that one's opinion about board games to movies depends on one's view of Clue. To be fair of Clue, Rocky 4, Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Color Purple were released about the same time.

What if for one edition, players played as detective but as famous fiction detectives: Hercule Poirot, Sherlock Holmes, Jessica Fletcher, Sam Spade, etc? Kind of like Murder by Death
"It is my opinion that your detective stories are the normal recreation of snobbish, out-dated, life-hating, ignoble minds."

But what would the mystery surrounding that be? A mystery surrounding detectives is tougher to come up with, and I don't think a "who-solved-the-case" scenario would work. (How would a candlestick solve a case?)

Thinking some more about it, I think a board game adaptation of Murder by Death might actually work out, though...

I responded excitedly to an ad announcing a Clue game was for sale for merely $5... and was crushed to see pictures of the Reinvention.

Meh, I did all 6, but I don't think I'll post them. At least, not yet.
