Though why did you have to make him another white colour? Are you going to do the same for the rest? Say if Scarlet is the killer in this one, she will be replaced by Lord Another-Name-For-Red? Or Mustard be replaced by Constable Sunflower?

Not at all. The reason is because he was inspired by Signor Bianchi from Murder on the Orient Express (as PrinceAzure33 guessed). This is the one time I will actually replace the killer with a suspect with an essentially identical last name.

Well, it's kind of too late for Episode 2, but, depending on the reception of the one-suspect-gets-replaced-for-one-episode idea, it will either continue throughout the series or stop after #2...

i like the idea of switching up the suspects; especially since this seems to be a continuous trip arond the world, i think it's appropriate to switch it up

Summary
Claudio De'ath finances several terrorist groups. Or, rather, he financed them. The unfortunate man had many enemies, and met his end in Venice. Did Colonel Mustard pull an "oddjob" with the hat in the Campo San Polo? Or maybe Professor Plum used his bare hands to push the man into the Grand Canal... or strangle him. Find out the full story in The Merchant of Venice!

(By the way, I've come up with an ingenious way of advertising episodes in the future, as long as I can get it to work...)

Well, I want to keep it as a secret, especially if it ends up working. I'm having trouble so far, though, so it looks like I might not be able to do it...

Venice- Modern Day
The Grand Canal
Day 1- 6:40 P.M.

Colonel Mustard was on a ferry going down the Grand Canal in Venice, en route to his hotel. He politely tipped his hat at the man across from him. Some Signor Bianchi or whatnot, also staying at his hotel. There was only one more man in the boat. Mustard thought of the grim task ahead of him.

The day before he left Rome, he was summoned to the CSIS’ Station I positioned in Rome. There he got instructions for his next mission. What a waste of a vacation, Mustard thought with a sigh.

Claudio De’ath had, for the past 10 years, been financing terrorist groups. His strategy was extremely clever: buy airline stock and sabotage the company, but not before he sold at a profit. Recently, he hacked into the CSIS’ computer database, and stole extremely valuable information, and was now blackmailing the CSIS. They were powerless to stop him. There remained only one option: elimination.

The other man on the boat was Claudio De’ath himself…

continued…
While Mustard was absorbed in thought, looking out on the canal, Signor Bianchi went over to De’ath. “Now that you’ve been paid, how soon can we get results? he asked in a low tone of voice.

“Never. Not with this money, came the calm reply.

“We agreed to a price! Bianchi was outraged.

“I am altering the deal, De’ath answered, matter-of-factly. “Assassinating the President is not an easy thing to arrange.

“You won’t get away with his, Bianchi hissed, moving away from him.

The Hotel- Reverend Green’s Room
7:11 P.M.

Reverend Green had not unpacked upon arrival at the hotel that morning. Instead, he went straight off to visit the beautiful Basilica San Marco. Brass knuckles? Green pulled them out of his suitcase. How on earth had those gotten there?

Reflecting further on his day, Green was pleased. It had been a satisfactory day. If only that man at the Basilica hadn’t been so irreverent! Making blasphemous jokes to him, a priest at that! Reverend Green did not notice his grip tighten on the brass knuckles.

The Diner
9:00 P.M.

That evening, Miss Scarlet, Mrs. Peacock, Colonel Mustard, Reverend Green, and Professor Plum had dinner with one of the other guests— Claudio De’ath. Green was not particularly pleased about having to share a table with the man, but he eventually conceded.

“So, Professor, what’ve you been up to? De’ath asked unexpectedly.

“I’m not sure what you mean… Plum replied, confused.

“Oh, come on. Don’t you remember me? I was in your Calculus class back at Oxford!

“I have many students, Plum answered. “It is unreasonable to expect me to remember them all.

“Would it help if I mentioned that was the year of the Eileen Corrigan affair? Suddenly, Plum remembered exactly who this man was. But that was a long time ago! Why did he have to bring this up?

“What do you mean? asked Miss Scarlet, leaning in closer to the man.

Fortune intervened. As Miss Scarlet leaned over, De’ath accidentally spilled his wine all over her dress. Miss Scarlet was furious. “Look what you’ve done!!! she accused him. “This is my very best dress!

“It’s not my fault! De’ath protested. “You were the one who leaned in so close!

Miss Scarlet got up from the table and ran off. Professor Plum followed her out, secretly pleased at the distraction.

Mrs. Peacock’s Room
9:37 P.M.

Mrs. Peacock took a syringe out of her drawer. A diabetic, she needed to inject herself with insulin. At the same time, she thought of that man. De’ath. Such an unusual name. Where had she heard it? Suddenly, she remembered. Claudio De’ath. After her husband, James, died, he took over as CEO… The cause of death had been questioned at the time. She remembered being convinced he’d murdered him…

Professor Plum’s Room
9:44 P.M.

Professor Plum was worried. Claudio De’ath remembered the Eileen Corrigan scandal. Back when Plum was teaching in USA, there had been a girl. A rather beautiful, Irish one… Eileen Corrigan. How he’d been foolish at the time! There were talks of charges being pressed against him for sexual assault… So he fled the country… Would De’ath expose him? Plum’s hands clenched into fists and almost seemed to turn white…

Miss Scarlet’s Room
9:54 P.M.

I’ll get revenge if it’s the last thing I do… Miss Scarlet thought to herself. That dress had cost her a lot of money! Did the man think he'd buy her off with a smile??? Out of her purse, she took out a switchblade…

Signor Bianchi’s Room
10:15 P.M.

Bianchi had not been in the diner, and he missed the whole scene between Scarlet and De’ath. He had stayed behind in his room, assembling something… It was a sniper rifle!

Colonel Mustard’s Room
10:33 P.M.

Mustard was laying plans for the dirty task ahead of him. He thought of his hat— the perfect weapon. The lining was really a metal alloy, and when thrown, it could be deadly… Another neat little Intelligence trick, he thought…

The Bridge of Sighs
9:00 A.M.

Professor Plum and Miss Scarlet were together on the Bridge of Sighs, along with Colonel Mustard.

“So, Professor, Scarlet asked, “why is it called the Bridge of Sighs? Who was sighing on it?

“Probably some d*mn Romeo and Juliet Mustard replied.

Plum laughed. “Oh, no. Prisoners who had been convicted would cross this bridge. This would be their last ever look on Venice. That is why it’s called the Bridge of Sighs…
