I played SNES Cluedo for the first time last year and had a similar initial reaction, but it managed to grow on me and I quite liked it after awhile - was it the different play style that turned you off? What difficulty setting did you play it on?

Sleuth. Maybe not knowing entirely how it works but the puzzle element seems to be "random guessing until you get lucky and the computer tells you what you want to know".
Re: Most Recent Solution
I didn’t know entirely how it worked to begin with either, but basically the computer tells you information about how the rooms, items, suspects fit together - in the easiest settings it is all direct information like ‘mr plum had the candlestick’, but in the higher difficulties it’s more likely to be where something isn’t rather than where it is.
It takes a bit of getting used to but once you get your head around it, it’s not too bad.

Re: Most Recent Solution
I played the SFX game once a couple of weeks back
1. Garden - Horseshoe - Mrs. White -> Mom won due to most correct
2. Gazebo - Hammer - Rusty -> Mom won with correct accusation
Last week I played
1. Garden - Lawn Gnome - Miss Scarlet -> I won via correct accusation
2. Swimming Pool - Tennis Racquet - Mrs. Peacock -> I won via correct accusation
Interesting Pairings of killers for both months

I remember two years ago I was playing the Clue by MGS on the bus. I just finished a game where the answer was Green-Wrench-Dining Room. The very next game had the same answer!

I've never had that happen but I do hate it when you play 2 games and they are very similar. It happened the first 2 games of discover the secrets when I first got the game.

Many years ago (2010?), I had Family Game Night 3 for the Wii. Of course, I played a lot of Clue (DTS) (and Mouse Trap). One time, I had solve the case on my first rumor, Scarlett, Living Room, and Axe.

Re: Most Recent Solution
I've never paid much attention to video game versions of board games, but I was just watching a video of Hasbro Family Game Night 3 to see what it's Clue looked like - the game looks pretty standard as a video game adaption of a board game, but I did like that the lobby area is set-up like a Hasbro board game themed amusement park. A real place like that would be kind of awesome

My birthday game and I won, in spite of having 2 turns less than my opponents.

I played MD with my father and sister: I was M. Brunette, my dad was Col. Mustard, and my sister was her preferred character of Miss Scarlet. I was initially going to be Miss Peach, but my dad convinced me to be Brunette. Joke's on him, because the solution ended up being M. Brunette with the Wrench in the Gazebo. My sister made an incorrect accusation, so luckily I was able to win.

I never know if that's a good thing or not, playing as the murderer - normally when I'm the murderer, I find myself being moved from pillar to post which is annoying as heck if I'm trying to get to a specific location which really doesn't help if you have specific accusation rules.
Re: Most Recent Solution
But then again, another player could have your character in their hand and your playing piece still might get moved all over the place except where you're trying to go if that other player is trying to narrow down the room and/or weapon (and doesn't want to give away who they really suspect the murder is).Black wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 9:53 pmI never know if that's a good thing or not, playing as the murderer - normally when I'm the murderer, I find myself being moved from pillar to post which is annoying as heck if I'm trying to get to a specific location which really doesn't help if you have specific accusation rules.

Re: Most Recent Solution
I've had situations like that and I find it dangerous doing that, I could move a player into the murder room and they are lucky enough to suggest the solution on their next turn. But I suppose it's a riskMajorHoy wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 11:15 amBut then again, another player could have your character in their hand and your playing piece still might get moved all over the place except where you're trying to go if that other player is trying to narrow down the room and/or weapon (and doesn't want to give away who they really suspect the murder is).Black wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 9:53 pmI never know if that's a good thing or not, playing as the murderer - normally when I'm the murderer, I find myself being moved from pillar to post which is annoying as heck if I'm trying to get to a specific location which really doesn't help if you have specific accusation rules.
