S4 Character Cards

Post by WarnerPlum »

New character cards for the Series 4 suspects. I wanted to try my hand at caricaturizing them a la Hirschfeld, since it fits them well.

These look brilliant, apart from Peacock's eyes though

Oh I love them! I especially like Peacock's crazy eyes and Scarlet in general. Very nice set!

Not to long ago (two days ago) I was sketching most of the actors that played Mustard.

I have a fondness for the fourth season, crap as it may be. Charicature fits the absurd performances very well, I really like these cards. Peacock's face is perfect here : D

The capital letters NINA hidden within the drawings. I thought I found one on Scarlet. It it wasn't planned it's a happy coincidence.

Al Hirschfeld's daughter was named "Nina".
After she was born, he started including her names in his drawings, putting a number next to his name to indicate how many times her name appeared in that illustration.

Oh I see! That never occurred to me.

Then I'm excited I found one NINA by chance. I'm sure it's a stretch since it wasn't intended... but art always has that sort way of "figuring itself out". One of the great mysteries of life.
