Master Weapon Repository

Post by Zoo977 »

ABOUT
-This is a list of many, many Cluedo weapon, canon and non. This is in no way conclusive of every single weapon imagined on this forum, but it is a thoroughly documented affair
-A repository of suspects can be found here - A repository of rooms can be found here
- Pretty much any canon weapon will be added. Due to the sheer wealth of items that could become weapons, fan-suggested weapons will be restricted to things that could reasonably, in someway, be found in the mansion
-Weapons that are simply more basic weapons with qualifiers (steak knife, card sharps gun, any poisoned foods, etc.) or that are more silly and specific (plutonium rod, costume dragon tail, seagull, etc.) will be omitted
-if a weapon could fall into two different categories (such as darts being both sharp and ranged,) it will be put in both groupings
- This is ALWAYS a work in progress
- Suggestions are always welcome! 🖤

Just a counterpart to the character repository. I haven’t even begun to touch and found made weapons here, because they’re such a wealth that could be added. Before I get into all that, I’m posting this for now, and I want to see if you can think of any other official weapons I forgotten, or failed to notice. I know there’s a couple from armchair detective I need to get. I don’t know anything about the puzzles, and I’m sure there’s more I forgotten. Any additions would be more than appreciated

There’s some weapons from the old EA Games mobile app. I played it as a kid a remember them pretty well.
They were the following:

Candlestick
Pistol
Rope
Poison
Razor
Crowbar
Trophy
Axe
Gloves

I got a few weapons of my own:
Cricket Bat (Reference to the Bat from DTS)
Model Train
Derringer
Clock (Reference to the Bomb from the Patent)

Maybe we could make a repository of rooms.

Oh man, I completely forgot about that EA app! I thought you mention that I completely remember that! Crowbar razor and gloves were all new, I added those in. I want to focus on getting the wealth of official weapons before we go into the fan made, but I’ll be sure to add those when we get around to it.

I’ve considered the room repository too. When I was looking for those old One Long Night forum game pictures, I found an old file that was something of the sort!

Is "Coiled" the best term for that one group? Would one normally associate some of those with the world "coiled"?
I know those weapons might be used for strangulation, but I don't know if all of them would automatically be kept in coiled form when not in use.

I use the term coiled, as it’s the grouping term used from mystery at sea. It is a good question though. Anyone have any ideas for what else we could call it?

I think coiled works fine for the time being.

Some other official weapons are the unique ones from the French Game show (Saw, Shovel, Stick), more German game show (Cake Figurine, Champagne Flute, Chocolate Mousse, Club, Fireplace Shovel, Gold Disc, Grill Spit, Marble Angel, Shears, Swiss Army Knife, Vodka Bottle, Wheel Jack, Wine Bottle), and Japanese Cluedo (Shoe) if it helps. Apologies if there's and duplicates. I've got no idea where the last one would go.

One of the Japanese versions uses a suitcase/luggage as well, and a steam iron but that has already been mentioned (a luggage strap has been included but I don't think an actual suitcase has yet?)

I'll give my thoughts here

Saw, shovel, stick, club, fire shovel, grill spit, and the wheel jack are all good additions, and I'll slot them in shortly. I'll edit the champagne bottle to be just "bottle." That should include every kind.

Cake figurine, champagne flute, and shoe... they seem like you'd need a specific situation to make them work. I presume the cake figurine's sharp? The shoe heavy? I couldn't see them being used if the situation wasn't very specific. And if I put in the poisoned champagne, I'd have to put in every poison food. I kind of want to avoid that.

I may put a record in under sharp weapons. But a gold record? That's very specific to that musician case.

"Marble angel" and "swiss army knife" seem to just be more specific statuettes and pocket knives.

The chocolate mousse I'm torn on. I don't know if it's poisoned or not, and again, poisoned food rule. But... I mean, could a bowl of chocolate mousse be a drowning weapon? Could you drown someone in it? Only here would such a question be raised, but still.

These are all difficult questions with a lot of variables to go through, so I think we all appreciate you for leading the charge on this :D

Thank you! 💝
After some deliberation, I added the chocolate mousse. Call that deadly indulgence
I seem to have gotten rid of my old copy of armchair detective. However I definitely remember darts and a pitchfork being weapons in that, added both.
Going to add a couple clarifiers to the rules. One thing I should say, anything that could qualify in two categories (candlestick, poker, darts, etc.) will be places in both for the time being

The heels of some women's shoes could just as easily be sharpened and used for stabbing.
(They don't call them "stiletto heels" for nothing!)

Another question: under "BLUNT" you list
-MICROPHONE - Game show UK
Question might be during what time period was that game set? Older microphones could easily be heavy enough to use for striking a person with fatal consequences, but as technology progressed they became lighter in weight. Could it just as easily be used for strangulation by choking the victim with the microphone cord?

I'm not familiar with the way it was used in the UK game show version, so I don't know what that version of a microphone looks like / how it was used.

The game show is actually set in modern times, the same year the show was released. So the microphone is more or less what you think, a modern device with a long cord. It was explicitly stated as a bludgeoning weapon, but I can absolutely duplicate the entry for coiled weapons too

I always wondered what the murder method for the chocolate mouse was meant to be. I guess I'll have to watch the AU version to find out. Drowning maybe

How do you feel about the weapons from the Marmalade Clue App?

EDIT: or the Simpsons Museum Edition? (Cobra, Bone, Tarantula, Greek Bust, Spear and Mace)
