As you can tell by my name, I have a great respect for Mrs. Peacock due to the many background stories I've read about her and how she managed to rise to become a great socialite. The CMD Peacock card is an insult to this strong woman who has battled her way through husands only to end up with her spoiled and slutty daughter Miss Josephine Scarlet. There's my 2 cents put into the discussion about the CMD Peacock.

Sorry, I just hate typing out Clue Master Detective so I abbreviate it. It takes me forever to type it right because my shift key doesn't always work so I have to hit Caps Lock and then type the first letter and then unlock the caps. Thankfully I'm getting a new keyboard this week.

I do not like what Miss Scarlet has become. O amit to the card being very pretty, but like what alwayspeacock said, she has has become spoiled and slutty and that just isn't Scarlet. What ever happened to the old Scarlet where not only was she beautiful, and sexy, but also exotic, intelligent, clever, cunning, and a tad bit evil. Now all she is, is a complete bizatch to her mother Mrs. Peacock!!  :(  :( :( :(

( also the whole Peacock/Scarlet mother daughter thing dosen't work, and the CMD Peacock just plain sucks)

the but the presenter JUST bored the *beep* out of all of us. We all hated it cause It was boring when it could of been intesting ,

what does this have to do with this dicussion??

well, the presenter looked EXACTLY like The CMD Mrs. Peacock!!,

She didn't were blue, but she had an orange seedy face, ugly white frizzy hair, she had the beedy little eyes and glasses, etc.

What is it that people don't like about the Master Detective Colonel Mustard? He is one of my favorites. I think he looks stylish!

How do you know what kind of pictures they are if you're such a lay-dee?

Best/Worst

Post by Lord Caspen »

The hardest part of this is that there are several different kinds of each character, esp. Green, and different eras. Also, I'm not really sure if, the best Mustard doesn't match up with the best Peacock and the best Plum, perhaps. Still, while I haven't seen absolutely ALL the suspects, ever, out of the ones I have seen, these are the best/worst:

BEST:

Mustard --- 1986 Edition
Plum --- 1972 Edition
Green --- Clue VCR
Peacock --- Clue Master Detective
Scarlet --- Clue Master Detective
White --- 1972 Edition

WORST:

Mustard --- 1996 Edition
Plum --- 2002 Edition
Green --- Nostalgia Edition (round and effete? interesting choice, but I don't care for it)
Peacock --- Franklin Mint Edition
Scarlet --- Franklin Mint Edition (a little old, n'est-ce pas?)
White --- Clue Master Detective (I actually like her, but she's the worst of 'em)

BEST MALE:
Mustard of 1986 Edition -- gray and chestnut hair, monocle, pencil-mustache. I also like that on the box cover he's in a perfect tweed suit and on the card he's got a dark jacket and yellow shirt. It's just very British, somehow. You can look at him and automatically think, "Stiff upper lip."

BEST FEMALE:
Scarlet of 1972 Edition -- Oriental, mysterious, thirtyish (so that she's not old but old enough to be feel threatened when Miss Peach later comes on the scene) ... looks killer in red

WORST MALE:
Mustard of 1996 Edition -- Where's his face? What we can see of him looks so soft and bumfuzzled I can't imagine he has the least shred of personal character. And why has he got those repulsive thick lips and a silly little mustache?

WORST FEMALE:
Peacock of the Franklin Mint Edition -- A fine picture, to be sure, and a cute idea, to make her younger than ever before. But she looks so unspoilt, so ... I think of her here as a virgin princess. Unwed, untouched, and demurely dependent on the nearest Englishman. I just always think of Peacock as more worldly-wise and either elegant with a bit of flash, or tweedy, neither of which is represented here.

BEST OVERALL GROUP:
1986 Edition

WORST OVERALL GROUP:
1949 Edition

Here are mine:

Best Overall Edition:

1996/1997

Worst Overall Edition:

1986 (the board is too fake looking)

Best Characters:

Miss Scarlet - 1996/1997
Colonel Mustard - 1986
Mrs. White - Hard, she looked alike in so many, but I guess 1996/1997
Mr. Green - Actually, I like the computer version best, but I would have to pick 1992
Mrs. Peacock - 1949
Professor Plum - 1996/1997

Worst Characters:

Miss Scarlet - 1992
Colonel Mustard - 1964
Mrs. White - 1986
Mr. Green - 2002
Mrs. Peacock - 1972
Professor Plum - 1949

Best Board:

1996/1997

Worst Board:

1986

Best Additional Character:

CLUE FX Miss Peach

Worst Additional Character:

Clue: Master Detective Mme Rose

Mme Rose

Post by Lord Caspen »

Actually, I sort of liked Rose. I like the idea of the secretary, at least, not necessarily the secretary-*beep*-medium. *That* stretched credibility a bit. But as just a secretary, I kind of liked the CMD Rose; we don't know anything about Boddy's work life, and giving him a secretary helps flesh his character out a bit more, I think.

On the other hand, if Madame Rose is to be a dodgy medium, I liked the VCR interpretation best ... that she's Boddy's twisted sister, who has an overdeveloped imagination and a spooky hobby.

Here is my opinion:

Best:

Scarlet: 1992. I love having an Asian Scarlet. She feels so elegant.
Mustard: 1986. I think he's so dashing.
White: 2002: She's looking her best, her very best.
Green: Clearly Master Detective.
Peacock: Master detective. I just love those glasses and that jacket. She looks much more like a scientist, which is how I have always seen her. Second favorite: 1992. I adore that brilliant hairdo.
Plum: 2002. I love a young, clean-faced Plum.

Worst:

Scarlet: 1986. Much as I love her shawl, she's not even red.
Mustard: 2002. This new Mustard just underwhelms me.
White: 1986. A young Mrs. White doesn't quite make much sense.
Green: Rev. Green on the puzzle box. He's too young, too, well, off kilter.
Peacock: 2002. That viel, I just don't like this one at all.
Plum: Clue Master Detective. He'd be great, if he didn't have that moustache.
