She certainly looks younger in that little game image.

This looks cool. I hope the black and whit egraphics don't hinder it too much. I know almost every other hand-held game has black and white graphics, but at least those screens had stationary color parts to make it more lively. Not that I don't like what I see here. It certainly looks like it might be the most "elegant" (to use one of Cluedokid's favorite words) installment in the new line of CLUE products.

I should hope so! Shouldn't Clue have some sort of elegance to it?

Whatever happened to this game?!?!?!?!?! :?: :!:
Oh, it's England. Croquet on the lawn, tea in silver teapots, sherry before dinner. One simply has to maintain one's standards!

I wonder if this was ever made or if that was just a production model? I would have loved this!

Telling from the previous comments, it was most likely sold

Aside from that one worthpoint post, I can’t find any record of it ever being sold on eBay. Crazy ! Something new for me to keep my eyes out !

Yes, it is a mysterious one to try and track down - hopefully someone finds it eventually.

What do you mean? It was advertised for pre-sale, but was it actually ever distributed?

My thought at the moment is that it must have been halted or re-called (perhaps dangerous electrical problems) and that the copy that later showed up on ebay was a prototype or advanced copy. Such a shame.

I've reached out to a few of my "in the know" sources and will post anything I discover!

A super interesting point is that the artwork for Miss Scarlett on the front appears to be new while the artwork for Mustard and Plum is the same-old rehash from other games around the time. Strange that they would create new artwork for one character but not the other two...

I actually sort of like how the suspects are rendered there. Plum looks more kempt than on the card.

A question about this handheld game was posted over at board game geek (I assume by someone from this forum?):

Yep, that's me. I haven't been able to confirm anything so far other than that it at least reached pre-production prototypes (so there is at least 1 copy floating around, which we already knew via the ebay posting.)

Hopefully you can find out some more information but there doesn't seem to be much about it. Good to see other people on here that are also on Board Game Geek forums.

Hi folks,

I may be able to help a little bit with this, though I'm going to keep my identity and how I came across this a secret for now. 8)

What I can tell you is that I've also seen that Worthpoint listing, but what I have to show you is definitely not from that.

Sincerely,

fupersly

I had to go take pictures of this with my phone camera and then send them to myself via e-mail, since I wasn't feeling brave enough to try to post to this forum from my phone. :P

Please see the 3 attached pictures of this game, which I can confirm is an absolutely real and fully functioning game - it even plays sound! 8)

The first 2 pictures are hard to see any clear evidence of being real, but the third image shows me using my left pointer finger to press the left button on the game's D-pad controller, which causes the player character (the lower blob of pixels) to move to the left, as he's facing in the image.

In terms of why I have this, I ended up inheriting it from a company I once worked for - but I'll leave the backstory at that for now. In the meantime, please feel free to ask me any questions and I'll answer as best I can. 8)

Sincerely,

fupersly
