Re: Clue Rival Edition

Oh, how fun! I’ve been waiting for the other Rivals editions to hit store shelves — some easy 2 player games would be most welcome in Covid Times. Had no idea a Clue version was in the pipeline, too, so now I’m mentally already $10 poorer

Re: Marmalade Game Studio's Clue(do)

Marmalade Game Studio has resently released The Game of Life 2. Maybe Clue might be getting the same treatment down the line I'm assuming that's an interesting typo, or do you resent / feel indignant that The Game of Life got a new version before Clue ( do )? Well, it’s happened before. They...

Re: Clue Liar Edition Review(s)

Got my copy last week (more box damage than my “magic mirror” edition, hence it being an Amazon Warehouse deal. But I saved about $6 in the end, and the components are in excellent shape). This is definitely a game that I’d imagine shines best in a group of 4-6. The 2-player rules are included (in f...

Re: Clue Liar Edition Review(s)

I bought one from an Amazon Warehouse deal. Saved a few dollars because the box is “damaged” in some way (if it’s anything like my copy of the “magic mirror” edition, the damage is going to be a negligible dent in a corner). Saved a few bucks, so I’m looking forward to its arrival on Monday. I think...

Re: New Deluxe Travel Ed. by WS Games

Yeah, the weapons look a lot like other vintage/retro inspired sets. Not at all the actual vintage molds, but not 100% just the standard weapon dimensions. I’ve always wondered why these designs need to exist at all, they can’t be that much of a price difference to produce. [shrug] Here’s a shot of ...

Re: New Deluxe Travel Ed. by WS Games

Some photos on my IG here . It’s definitely a “travel” game in the sense that it’s a portable game. The magnets that hold the case shut are very strong — I tried to record a video unveiling the board, only to discover it can’t easily be opened with one hand. Without any kind of magnets in the ...

As pretty as it is, I’m not usually in favor of travel games without any use of magnets/peg slots to secure game pieces. Though as a very portable set for easy packing, this is definitely the best o...

Re: Which is the best Marmalade theme?

Oh I doubt it’s anyone’s favorite theme

It’s nice, but I’m salty that’s when they dropped the ball on sculpting custom playing pieces & just recycling existing models. :?

Very excited for this one. Similar to the cheater’s Monopoly, but still looks like a promising game despite the inherent gimmick.

Re: Which is the best Marmalade theme?

Tudor/Classic get the heaviest rotation from me, but my favorite overall theme has to be Murder Express. It’s a fun board to throw almost any combination of characters into, and I love the entirety of that 9-part suspect lineup. Why no love for the Egyptian dig theme? Or just an oversight when you s...

Short form Clue/do History on YouTube

From Deseret News Most enjoyable to see Pratt’s daughter, Marcia Lewis, interviewed, as well as Rob Daviau, the game designer we can apparently thank for that woefully misguided “Discover the Secrets” rebranding. Nothing new in this for people like us, but a nicely produced little piece. I especial...

Cluedo Super Sleuth, rules clarification

Finally got myself a copy of ‘95s Cluedo Super Sleuth — essentially finishing the part of my collection for advanced editions (except Passport to Murder & the UK Super Cluedo, which are ultimately just redesigns of earlier advanced games, so I’m not rushing to bankrupt myself trying to snag those an...

Re: Non-Clue Board Games

I had Mysterium but sold, I saw Psychic Detectives which has kind of the same mechanics but I think is a better game Do you own the Betrayal At House On The Hill expansion? Widow's Walk it's called - The expansion has a Haunt that's based on Clue I do not, but I bought it for a gaming couple I know...

Re: Non-Clue Board Games

I’ve got a more than decent home library of games (not a TON like many other gamers I know, but that’s pretty evenly attributed to my consistent lack of spare funds to buy all the games I want, and the fact I don’t want to burn up whatever storage space I have by cluttering it up with piles of dusty...

Re: When did the Hall loose a door?

I hate that missing door. At least modern Clue games include two dice, but it does make it a pain to have to visit the Hall (Bathroom?). Personally, I think Marmalade’s marriage of the classic rooms/aesthetic with the condensed layout of the 2013 board is an ideal happy medium & I wish Hasbro were w...

This looks super cute, IMO. A bit closer to a traditional Cluedo experience for the younger players, since a broken toy could be considered dead. Hope we get this re-skin stateside too.

Re: New Year, Cheaper Clue

I just noticed something else annoying: while they may have dropped the "New Suspects" label from the box graphics, it looks like they still have the old version of the game board pictured on the box: https://i67.servimg.com/u/f67/18/91/37/14/7-d62110.jpg Yeah, I know it's cheaper (sorry, " more co...

Re: Clue w/ bathroom

Well, that’s ... ugly. Definitely not in any rush to add this to the shelves. Are we to assume this is the best Hasbro could think of to celebrate 70 years of Clue? :| Even the “Discover the Secrets” reinvented game was a better 60th anniversary marker than this. The bathroom itself is fine (I’d enj...

Re: New Year, Cheaper Clue

Yes, it's a quad-fold board (see pictures). The label for the Dining Room is also positioned just right to split between the two words perfectly where the split in the room can’t be avoided. The Hall doesn’t jar me as much as the Ballroom — at least the Hall label runs parallel with the carpet runne...
