Different
Well, of course, a lot of these guys were playing very different kinds of Mustard. But, attempting to calibrate for all other things being equal, I like Covell. When I think of a toffee-nosed soldier, he's about what I imagine.
It's discouraging to think how many people are shocked by honesty and how few by deceit. -- Blithe Spirit, Noel Coward.

Did he really do the most modelling? Sure, he looks similar, but I never seen anywhere that proves it is him.cacums wrote:Walter Covell wins for me. He did the most Colonel Mustard modeling and brought him the voice that fits.
I believe he played Colonel Mustard on the 1972 box as well as the puzzle series and thus the 1996 version.

ok so I was totally between David Robb, Michael Jayston, and John Standing. I think it just kinda depends on what you're going for. I think they all, for the most part, were quite good. But those three definitely had the look and character down I think.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Walter Covell's performance. The VCR games still crack me up to this day.

IT'S ALL TOO SHOCKING!

I'm afraid to say that there is another one we need to add to the list of Cluedo suspects who have passed away. Leslie Grantham has passed away https://twitter.com/i/moments/1007592347717259264

I've always thought David Robb resembled 1986 Mustard, who was my first Colonel Mustard.cluedoking123 wrote:ok so I was totally between David Robb, Michael Jayston, and John Standing. Too bad he didn't get a full season. I would have loved to see his acting range as the Colonel.

Walter Covell is THE Col. Mustard. He embodies the very essence of everything Mustard stands for. In the interviews of him, he seems like he can preform as Mustard for birthday parties. Martin Mull was an excellent actor for Mustard as well, showing the corrupt side. Also, the person who played him in the first season of Cluedo did a very good job of converting him to the modernness of the 1990s, while the others in the later seasons seemed like they stayed true to the original man in 1949.
