I've been playing around with Maya to build up my 3D portfolio. I've started with modelling my weapon set - starting with the Candlestick and Rope.

These are far from complete, the rope I'll will likely redo and the candlestick still needs its ornamentation and the complex texturing like dings and chips and the rope, I'll see if I can give it some fine fraying. Mostly, it's for testing purposes to get used to the various tools for building my models. It's all leading to my over arching goal to recreate Hill House, and as well my own version of Black Manor. Smile

I love the rope! It reminds me of the early plastic ropes included in the '72 edition of Clue. Thick, a bit chunky compared to the thin ropes that started coming out later.

Thanks!

Small update with the lead pipe - keep in mind these will get more detailed textures down the road.

Next up will be the wrench - I will try and add some custom animation attributes for the *beep*/jaw mechanism.

Further developments - The Wrench has been made, and the Lead Pipe has been redesigned and detailed.

I made little vignettes of them animated. Smile

The rope has been updated at last, complete with an animation of it swinging.

With four modeled, that leaves the knife and gun left to do.

Some latest developments, I've done more work with the Candlestick, gave it a candle and animated it falling. I played around with some fire dynamics for it.

I've got to completing the latest weapon - the revolver.

Animation coming soon. I've keyed the gun specific controls so that I can animate the movable parts. Smile

The last weapon - the Knife. Still need to model a sheath for it eventually.

Here's the set as a whole.

This all looks very unsafe, leaving those implements just lying around.

But they are beautifully rendered, no doubt.

I'm sure they could pick off some pesky NPCs. Wink

I made a sheath to match the dagger.

Here's the Dagger video.

Gorgeous as always! They look great alongside the MaBM characters. I'd love to see them using the deadly fellas.

I've been very busy modelling lately...

As cacums mentioned, MABM is on my mind, and I've started modelling a suitcase similar in style to the one used to contain the murder solution in that game, but holding the weapons instead like in Fatal Illusion.

Also, started modelling parts a bit of recreation of MABM's Study

Something of an update - wondering if it's too overt to have my portrait over the chair. Smile

Populated the display cabinets, including Boddy's insect and Roman coins collections.
