There is A LOT to read so if I ask a really dumb question that's mentioned in the story, I either forgot or missed it so apologizes in advance.

Mrs. Peacock - Exactly how much money did you invest in this experiment?

Professor Plum - Dr Orchid suggested you'd follow the victim. I'd like to know where you followed her too and what you did after that.

Hopefully I’m doing this right .....

First question is for Miss Scarlett, Did you ever find Mrs Peacock ?

Second question is for Mr Green, What did you do with the Plated Bible ?
Image

"She found me. I returned to the study after that ridiculous Professor Plum bit with the code. Mrs. Peacock came in rather upset about something some time later, but she refused to elaborate on it. Sometimes you just have to let a person stew, yes?"

Image

"I left it in the kitchen. I didn't know where Mrs. White had grabbed it from, so I sort of just tucked it away somewhere that looked right. One of the cabinets on the far wall maybe. Didn't want it to go missing."

Mr_Suspect88, you may make a suggestion including one suspect, one weapon, and one room.

Dr. Orchid, where did you first go when searching for Miss Drummond?

Miss Scarlett, where did you go before Dummond’s body was found?
Image

"I started at the billiard room; that's where she'd gone after our little discussion, of course."

Image

"After leaving the conservatory, I went back to the study, where I spent much of the remaining evening."

Jonathan Green, you may make a suggestion including one suspect, one weapon, and one room.

"My, what a rude question! Don't you know it's impolite to ask a lady about finances? But if it's pertinent, detective, between...$2,000 and $3,000. Thereabouts."

Image

"Well, I actually followed Miss Scarlet while Dr. Orchid went to find Miss Drummond. I met her in the study, and there was an incredibly comedic scene where she tried to...well, expose me to Mrs. Peacock, and I had to rely on puns and double entendre to slip away unscatched. Very Abbott and Costello.

(This is brilliant by the way)

Captain Cafe - Who were you talking to on the phone?

and - What did you notice on the stairwell?

Out of these three, 1 is correct. How curious! What will you do with this information? You may ask two more questions of our suspects.

Question for Mr Green, what do you know about Michael Peacocks death?

Question for Colonel Mustard, what entrance did you use to come back in the house from your search for “Dr Orchid”?

"Classified. Let's just leave it at a cordial discussion with a certain government contact who may or may not have interest in experiments into the uncanny, which, off the record, may or may not exist. That said, I did have a bit of a moment on the stairwell, I guess. I saw a shadow of a person at the top. For a split second, and only at that angle. I don't own a television set, but it was...as if the picture had cut out, you know? Some sort of communication error where the person was there and then not. Part of me wonders if those two over there actually accomplished what they set out to do behind the smoke and mirrors. Not that that's a possible thing to accomplish. Officially."

"Well, in the interest of full disclosure...I do happen know that the roller skate was placed there after the fall. Maybe by the Captain's stairwell ghost? Yeah, yeah. Could have been. Michael and I had been arguing about bookkeeping earlier, sure. And maybe I saw him lose his balance. Never tied his shoes, you know? And maybe I did try to pull him back onto his feet but he slipped out of my hands. No matter how much I tried to hold on. So...that's how it happened. I wish I could have saved him, Mrs. Peacock."

Image

"I found the Professor out back by the gazebo, and he sort of stayed there while I flanked around to the front again in case she had made a run for it. I didn't find her and came back in through the front door after some searching."

Mrs Peacock - You were upset about something when you came from the Conservatory, could you tell me what that was?

Dr Orchid - When she was found dead Miss Hammond was dressed like you. Should she have been making another appearance as you somewhere?

Out of these three, 0 are correct. It seems Dr. Orchid is guiltless of murder, if not fraud. The pistol was not fired in Miss Drummond's direction that night. And the most gruesome sight in the library was in the pages of some horror book! I can now tell you that, to the best of her ability and memory, Dr. Orchid will be truthful with you. You may ask two more questions of our suspects.

Mrs. Peacock, when did you first heard about the experiment?

"At the risk of fueling suspicion in my direction, I had found the secret passageway just ever so slightly ajar. I managed to eavesdrop on some of Dr. Orchid's conversation with her late assistant through to the lounge. Terribly good acoustics through those hidden halls."

Image

"I did manage to talk her into continuing the charade, yes. She was to meet me in the lounge after changing her costume, which was hidden in the ballroom, but she never did."

"I was comforting Mrs. Peacock. Well, eventually. In the beginning, I was hiding out from Plum and the Captain, who were having existential crises about what universe they belonged in. The Professor did find me eventually, however."

Image

"Well, the Professor approached me several months ago to pitch this work. But if you mean when I found it was...less than factual, it was listening in the conservatory."

Jonathan Green, I will respond to your suggestion in my next post.

Out of these three, 0 are correct. It seems our friend in red didn't draw the color from the victim that night. The fountain pen plunged only into an inkwell. And the study, while housing plenty of nonsense, did not house a murder. You may ask two more questions of our suspects. Miss Scarlet will continue to speak truthfully, as she is innocent.

Oh dear! Circling the solution, I see. Well, we don't want the guilty party to escape, and we here do detest formalities for the sake of formalities. Given these developments, questioning rules are now relaxed. You may ask one or two inquiries of our suspects should you need further information from them, but should you not, your proffered accusation will be considered final! So before taking a shot in the dark, do be certain where you point your finger, yes?
