Re: The Designs/Artwork of Clue

Pointedly, a high ranking policeman as an Inspector may have been invited as a house guest. However, I think his appearance is a matter of translation. In Passport to Murder preceding, his title is that of an Earl/Count (IT), which leads me to wonder if he is undercover.

Re: The Designs/Artwork of Clue

I still keep thinking of this box artwork of which I cannot find a larger version of, that has a different illustration for the mansion, that looks to be more accurate to the board layout.

Re: Current Thoughts

Just thought I'd mention, but Denise Nickerson who played Violet Beauregarde, the blueberry girl, in the original Willy Wonka with Gene Wilder has passed away on Wednesday. :(

Re: The Designs/Artwork of Clue

It's not just the furniture choices in the 1986 game that are bad, but also the questionable color schemes of some of the rooms. A single lime green chair in a barren dark cherry room? You're right, the less said of the lounge, the better. :)

Re: Marmalade Game Studio's Clue(do)

What's confusing to me is that this set looks to be a mishmash of Sherlock characters, with classic Clue character. So some are retaining their classic names, while others are purely from the Sherlock universe. Going by color code - it looks like Sherlock is Mustard, Watson - Green, Lestrade - Plum ...

Re: Marmalade Game Studio's Clue(do)

Hmm, so they are using the Sherlock characters, I'm a bit surprised as I thought the names were just decoration, but also a bit disappointed as I was hoping to see interpretations of existing Clue characters we haven't seen yet (and also Victorian reimaginings of the ones we have, as they are doing ...

Re: Marmalade Game Studio's Clue(do)

I don't believe they are actually playing the Sherlock Holmes characters - rather its simply a facelift theme of the setting. Notice that they are hinting at the SH character names, rather than showing them in full. As we've got Scarlett; the suffragette and Rusty; the crime boss, it looks like they...

Re: Current Thoughts

It was a light-hearted film because it was made closer to the war, and audiences didn't want to watch anything too dark. The ending too was based off the play, rather than the book. For better, gloomier versions, try either the 1987 Russian version, or the more recent BBC TV mini series.

Re: CLUE RETROSPECTIVE - 2000s games

I never cared much for the character designs, though they seem pretty good in comparison to what came after. The storyline and backstories were decent enough, quite detailed. Some odd points about the 2002 game I noticed: Why for whatever reason did they depict the 50th Anniversary rope design on th...

Also, since I'm sure most of you would like to see, without sitting through 3 hours of Japanese, I have some screenshots of the deaths. ;) https://i.postimg.cc/X7Z3XjGB/Screen-Shot-2019-02-01-at-10-38-21-AM.png https://i.postimg.cc/dQNwqk1K/Screen-Shot-2019-02-01-at-10-46-43-AM.png https://i.postimg...

Japanese TV And then there were none

I discovered following the footsteps of the BBC's 2015 adaptation of And Then There Were None, Japan released their own version 2 year after. I managed to watch a poor-quality bootleg of it on YouTube. It was quite good and cleverly adapted, inspired by both the BBC version and the book. It's set in...

Re: Favorite Miss Scarlett

I remember being taken aback when I saw the box for Clue the movie. I thought she was Mrs. Peacock due to her dress, and had no idea who Scarlet was supposed to be. I did end up liking her though. She was an older portrayal than how Scarlet normally is.

Boddy was never physically depicted on the book covers. He was featured in every book, but never shown. And yet, THAT Boddy is the one who I attribute most to Mr. Boddy.

Hmm, might he had been the mummy and vampire for The Revenge of the Mummy and the Vanishing Vampire respectively?
