I think the a lot of the Orchid hate in general comes from the fact that she was introduced as a blatant marketing move with the whole replacing Mrs White angle, knocking a classic character out of the game.
Basically, yea. Hasbro just did it out of the blue.

Re: Clue: Murder at Tudor Close - Who’s your favorite?

In general, I hate Dr Orchid as a character, but I like your depiction. Do tell! Why the Orchid hate? Is she tolerable when included as a seventh suspect, or just overall a bad idea a as a character? Maybe it’s the fact she replaced Mrs. White. I’m a fan of Orchid, and I see her as Boddy’s adopted ...

Not to step on PrinceAlarming's toes but I think i like Plum the most out of those particular characters, although Peacock and Orchid are really good as well.
Why thank you

Re: The Official Clue Study Guide (2003)

Really? I feel like there’s reference in Wizard of Oz to “dying eyes to match my gown” but it may not have meant anything. If it bothers you, go for it! 😀 I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE EVER DO THIS , but I read somewhere putting iodine into your eyes can lighten the color/break down the melanin. Or you...

Re: The Official Clue Study Guide (2003)

I’m gonna fix the inconsistencies in the bios. Ex. Scarlett’s eyes being Hazel instead of Blue. Lord Gray’s hair is gray instead of white, etc. I don’t really think you need to do that. The inconsistencies can be easily explained (Scarlet wears coloured contacts or her eyes change hue in different ...

Great find!

I remember reading some of this in "Character Profiles" on the official Clue Habsro website during the early-mid 2000s, but I'm not sure it went any further than the core six, Black, & Boddy.
My guess is that Hasbro was gonna post the rest, but never did.

That helped clear up some points about Prince Azure I had as well, at least as they relate to the games from this period (Marmalade games are a different story).
I thought he was, or at least claimed, from the Ottoman Empire, which ended in 1924.

Re: A email with Michelle Duval

That’s a shame - the art direction isn’t to my personal taste but in terms of the character designs but they really had a focused look to this period, and a lot of the games were still great to look at. You can tell they had a dedicated team and were trying to draw on the history of the board game....

Re: A email with Michelle Duval

That is great - Michelle Duval seems like a top person! Michelle mentions being game designer for Clue Mysteries, which is interesting. I don't own Clue Mysteries, but it looks like it would be a great game to own - from all appearances, it seems to be a Clue face lift to the existing game Mysterie...

The Official Clue Study Guide (2003)

Since I was able to get the Clue Style Guide from Michelle Duval, I was able to find details on ALL characters in the games.
I made a Google Doc for it so you can all see!

A email with Michelle Duval

Thanks to Elrond, I was able to talk with Michelle Duval about some other questions about the millennial Clue games (2002, FX, Mysteries, and DVD). Here's what I sent... Hello Michelle, I'm a fan of Clue, and one of my favorite Clue games is Clue FX, a game that you worked on. Someone, another Clue ...
