Re: First Mrs. White, then the Hall, is the Lead pipe next?

This will mark the first time since 1949 that a decade doesn't have it's own game of original Clue. Deeply disappointed. You mean because the current version has Dr. Orchid instead of Mrs. White? I'd argue that updating the character is more or less a permanent "improvement". I don't really count t...

Re: Hasbro to axe the Hall?

Oh well, we all knew it was going to be the bathroom, didn't we? Actually that makes the most sense over any other choice. The movie had a powder room, and the Hall was just that, a space that ran the length of the house, with no clearly defined entry space. I've always viewed the Hall as redundant....

Re: First Mrs. White, then the Hall, is the Lead pipe next?

I don't think there's anything wrong with modernizing the game, every so often. Since the "reinvention" it's been proven there's enough of a market for the classic editions, that one can easily be had without much effort, or the sacrifice of other editions. Let them change-up the basic Hasbro game e...

Re: New Clue Road Trip Travel Game Coming

Nice scans! On a quick look, it seems that If you stop on the red spaces you can move to any room that you choose! So it looks like they are a type of secret passage. I’m not that good at French but can muddle through reading a little bit of it, from trying to read French comics in the past. You sh...

Re: New Clue Road Trip Travel Game Coming

And now for the French instructions. I do love the new Road Trip graphics they're using. It's too bad this isn't a higher quality game such that they are sharper and cleaner looking. This is a relatively low resolution printing. Now if only I knew what it said! Actually I think I have an app that wi...

Re: New Clue Road Trip Travel Game Coming

I was able to pick up a French edition, which is perfectly fine for me, though I discovered only after I unboxed it that the instructions are extremely important to this edition since it plays slightly differently than regular clue. I'll post the instructions later, and hopefully someone who reads F...

Re: Halloween Themed Clue

As far as Haloween themes go, there's Nightmare Before Christmas, as well as the Haunted Mansion -- which indeed has a seance room. Tower of Terror likely counts, and I'd even throw Scooby Doo Clue in there as well. Actually the Disney boards would be fun to use the regular characters with and come ...

Re: Guess Who Clue, Hasbro mashups

Yes, @alwayspeacock ... simple to scan and print onto a sticker the conservatory artwork, and stick on top of a spare card from this set. In this case, the spare card for me is Mssr. Brunette. Better yet, just have everyone agree that Brunette is the Conservatory for the purposes of the game. Once a...

This is all so expensive. And I just realized Target no longer has the Rustic Edition for sale... ugh I kept waiting for a sale and now it’s gone!

Re: Downton Abbey Hasbro Clue U.S. edition

Ugh. Certain franchises should only be sold under the Cluedo brand — notably British TV shows, like Sherlock, Dr. Who, and Downtown Abbey. It’s really time to merge the clue/Cluedo branding schemes now that Hasbro owns both. DA has been available as a Cluedo Edition for some time now sold in the US ...

Re: First Mrs. White, then the Hall, is the Lead pipe next?

We’ve had a few discussion over the years about the role of the lead pipe, it’s viability, and it’s replacement, most notably during the DTS years. And to summarize, lead piping is hard to come by these days, most people born after 1980 don’t know what one is, there are more effective bludgeoning in...

Re: Hasbro to axe the Hall?

The article says there’s nothing like the bathroom, but then the kitchen is a lot like a bathroom with water, sinks and drains, tile floors and walls, etc. No the bathroom would not be my first choice, despite being an iconic room in the movie. As does the conservatory (more prominent in older edit...

Re: Marmalade Game Studio's Clue(do)

I would have preferred poison to the ankh. I’m not wild about the waterfall ... not the first thing one thinks of when thinking of Egypt. Perhaps caves or necropolis would have been better choices. I’m also not a big fan of the tent. Given the setting, a hotel would have probably been a better choic...

Re: Collection List 2019

I couldn't find a group collection list, and I figured it's time to update. There have been a few. This is probably the longest lived, but was decimated during one of Michael’s server crashes. http://www.theartofmurder.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4112 The Google “site:url search” function is the eas...

Re: Marmalade Game Studio's Clue(do)

Well, not quite as good for me as a Museum setting, but still a great setting for Cluedo. The teaser photo is a little strange since it looks like a modern museum, rather than a period one in Egypt. https://scontent-dfw5-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/67768741_2400282450060650_2487973678675918848_n.jpg?_nc...

Re: Marmalade Game Studio's Clue(do)

Yes! This is one of my favorite themes for Clue. The 3rd Edition of the Simpsons game set in the museum is one of my all time favorites. Hopefully this will be more than just Egyptian artifacts as that could be kind of dull with 9 rooms of the same thing. That said, Clue is perfectly at home in 1930...
